Steven Boyd Saum, Editor, Santa Clara MagazineSaum has helmed Santa Clara Magazine since 2006. His essays, fiction, and journalism have appeared in Salon, the Kenyon Review, Creative Nonfiction, the Christian Science Monitor, San Francisco Chronicle, and elsewhere. He previously served as editor-in-chief for The Commonwealth Club of California, the nation's premier public affairs forum, and edited a landmark volume on politics and the media, Each a Mighty Voice - lauded by the likes of writer Amy Tan, Sen. Richard Lugar, and Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, who called the book a must-read for all people on Earth and beyond. Originally from Chicago, Saum studied at Emory University and Johns Hopkins. In Ukraine, where he lived for four years, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer, hosted a radio show, directed the Fulbright program, and served as an election monitor during the Orange Revolution. He has also worked in higher education and conducted research in the Czech Republic and is a three-time champion on Jeopardy!
